Taye Balogun is the founder of two organizations: The CARROT Co. and The NGO International Film & Knowledge Forum.
The CARROT Co. is a collective of Pan-African artists and scholars who use creative communication to bridge the gap between policymakers and the public. Their mission is to simplify policies, amplify messages, and dignify African lives through storytelling with an emphasis on art, culture, and indigenous knowledge.
The NGO International Film & Knowledge Forum, which he also founded, started as a film festival and has since grown into a platform that uses art and education to drive advocacy and change. The forum’s mission is to empower individuals and communities through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, including film screenings, knowledge sessions, workshops, and interactive discussions.
Brief History about Taye
Taye Balogun is a Film Director, Photographer, Activist, and an Educator.
Communication, Campaign and Media Specialist with a Filmmaking background, and 20+years of experience in leading and managing strategic communications, media campaigns and activities, and producing film/videography content and photography for non-profit projects and programs across Africa, Middle East, North America, Europe and Australia.
Taye has worked and consulted for the United Nations, African Union, and several international organizations including Action Aid, Oxfam International, Amnesty International, Crisis Action, Porticus, Chandler Foundation, Nutrition International, amongst others.
He has led successful campaigns and advocacy initiatives such as Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), Spoilers Of Peace Awards, Action 2015, Gender Rights, Climate Justice, Right to quality education, illicit financial flow, etc.

From 2014 to 2018, Balogun served as the Deputy Executive Director of the African Artists Peace Initiative (AAPI). In this role, he coordinated the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) campaign, established a network of 42 country coordinators, and led campaign strategies for 43 countries. He also served as a liaison with the African Union and led engagements with various stakeholders, including UNESCO. His work involved convening meetings for AAPI peace ambassadors and co-chairing the Action 2015 Artist/Media Committee, which supported a campaign and ensured the representation of the artist community in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) discussions.
